Genealogy

So the BBC had an article - War records reveal America's past - about Ancestry.com uploading a bunch of old U.S. military records, and that access was going to be free for a couple months.  So I punched in the somewhat uncommon last name in its old spelling and came up with a Civil War entry.  I'd heard rumors of that, but I'm not sure whether it's the right one or not - there were a couple Jacobs with that last name in the area, apparently.  The National Parks service maintains the Civil War Soldiers and Sailors System, which has the information, too.

  1. Hey.
I have been finding some Saalwaechters in New Madrid, Missouri. I'm almost ready to go over and do some research. Do you have a family tree handy? I get fuzzy around Benhard. I know his father was Jacob, also. Who was Jacob's father?

And the women! How come we are only looking into the men? Who were Willamina's parents? And Minnie? And Grandma Carrie?
