- 2.5c flour
- 1/2c sugar
- 1/2c brown sugar
- 3.5 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1.25c milk
- 1 egg
- Cinnamon - about a teaspoon
- Ginger - about a teaspoon
- Cloves - about 1/2 a teaspoon
- Nutmeg - 1/4-1/2 a teaspoon
- Allspice - 1/4-1/2 a teaspoon
- Cardamom - about 1/4 a teaspoon
- Pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Cinnamon - about a teaspoon and a half
- Ginger - about a teaspoon and a half
- Cloves - about a teaspoon
- Nutmeg - about 1/2 a teaspoon
- Allspice - about 1/2 a teaspoon
- Cardamom - about 1/2 a teaspoon
- Pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
It can be modified for a cake - another egg, increase the oil to 1/2 cup, add another 1/2 cup or so of sugar. Cream cheese frosting would be good, but I usually just do a vanilla (or almond) butter frosting.
