Yet again

So, I broke another flash drive.

Well, not really broke it. But the plastic around the contacts on my little Kingston mini-slim thing started chipping last week. Fortuitously, my husband had just gotten me a backup 8 gb thumb drive to cover some of my "crap I left my flash drive at home" anxieties.

But I think I'm on my 4th one in the past 2 years. I didn't think I was that hard on them.

Argh

I forgot my flash drive at home. >.<

Well, my current flash drive.

I have probably 6 others with me, but they're all basically 'back-up' drives at this point, that I use for occasional back-up storage. (Like, for my ILL software that I don't have a download location or CD for, because our computers aren't really ours to control, and I would lose everything during upgrades if I didn't make my own back-ups.)

So, I at least have my music, on the 4 gb drive that I, um, kinda broke (the end is cracking), but not the most recent writing stuff.

I'm seriously considering Google Docs for my 'mobile writing' files.

Lunch is going to be bleh.

Crappity crap crap

My flash drive is cracking.

Ok, I have a lot of flash drives. At least 4 (64 mb up to a 1 gb) in a case in my backpack, and an 8 gb that serves as my radio in the car when I'm not using the XM. But it's a little 4 gb "MyFlash" drive that I carry around and use the most.

I've never actually... damaged a drive before, and this one is still reading, so it's mostly just a worrisome, I need a new one soon, problem. This is the drive I carry around at work, use to move files if I need to, and that serves as my "mobile writing" storage.

For the moment I've backed up the files onto the 8 gb micro SD card I use for my phone, but I'll need to replace it with another USB one soon.
