The bodice is fitted through the bust, and I flared the skirt to give it some fullness. Alas, it is too sheer for action shots. I finished all the seams:
I learned from this that I really need to just taper the sleeves for better shoulder movement and leave them fuller around the upper arm. An armhole:
The facing at the neck. It does lie flat while being worn.
This was my pattern:
The kirtle will be next; my goal is to avoid needing facing for it, so the patter will likely be straight-ish around the bust/under the arms, with shoulder straps. It will be back-laced, so that will be something new for me to learn. I'll need to play with the button-hole foot on my sewing machine before I try it on the "good" fabric.
